back to school shopping

Today I went back-to-school shopping with Erin. Ole took them out this weekend because that's the awesome dad he is, but today I had some one-on-one time with the amazon princess that lives at the end of the hall. I literally have to look up at her to see her eyes, she is 2 maybe 3 inches taller than me... and gorgeous of course, she looks like me, what can I say - hardy-har-har, yeah anyways.

So, we hit Kohls, Old Navy, TJ Maxx and Rue21 (frightening store that Rue21)... I avoided going to the malls because they are starting to freak me out... unless there is a door in each particular store that leads to the outside, it's pretty much and no-can-go for me. As a kid my mom rarely, if ever, took us to the mall and for back-to-school shopping we were given a budget and the Sears and JC Penney monster catalogs to shop out of. Hmmm, let's see, why was I unpopular? Just kidding, I know that had everything to do with my "winning" personality and extreme shyness. Thank goodness for my girl friends who never failed to have a boyfriend with single friends (DeeDee, Wendy... love ya!)

So anyways, back to shopping. TJ Maxx shares the same retail space as Home Goods which just happens to be my favorite store. I literally walked into the place and inhaled deeply and exhaled with a wide smile on my face, at which point Erin took off in the other direction mumbling something about embarrassment. But the most surprising thing of all is I didn't buy one single thing for myself. Why is this surprising? Well I have a bedding obsession and we went to Kohls, Home Goods and TJ Maxx, all of which have an awesome selection of discounted bedding and I didn't get one single pillow case, sheet set, duvet or blanket. It is definitely a first, a slight miracle occurred today, folks.

Happy Friday and weekend!

Oh, your memory is worse than mine, and that's saying something! I gave you a budget, and you and Sharon went to the mall to spend it. You had to decide if you wanted one pair of pants from a designer, or 2 or more without some one's name on your butt.

School shopping - I used to love it as a kid, but now that I am the one spending the money, it isn't so much fun!

I was wondering if you would post pictures of your completed Altered book on the Altered book website for us! I'd love to see how it looks completed! Thanks!

LOL Carrie! Growing up, we too, used to shop at JCPenneys - mainly because my uncle (my mom's brother) worked there and got a good discount! HA! However, I thought of you this weekend with your bedding fetish - when I went on the hunt for a new comforter. I found a WONDERFUL Beautiful Rich Chocolate Brown one at JCPenneys and on sale (with $15 coupon) for a total of $90 with 2 shams. More than I normally pay for those things BUT it was WELL worth it and the hubster loves it as much as I do! YAY!!! Have a great week! Hugs, Trac~ :o)
