Can't we just eat and be happy?

Written on Thursday, September 04, 2008 by Carrie

Today while enjoying my lovely chicken & rice bowl I was asked, by one of my conservative friends, if after listening to Governor Palin's speech last night was I embarrassed for the Democratic party.

Huh?

I said "Nope, not at all" at the same time I did a sweep of Yummi Japan and saw a pair of lovely African American ladies a couple of tables over shoot looks that were meant to kill her dead on the spot.  {Thanks for that ladies!}

I've said how hard it is for me to remain neutral and cordial when not only do some of my friends have a completely different political viewpoint from me, but they also seem to like to make a habit of not just scratching the debate surface, but wanting to have a knock-down drag out brawl.  November 4th can not get here soon enough.

I love the video from last night's Daily Show that Jon over at Blurbomat put up today.

    Apparently she was raised by wolves. Amazing. Believe it or not, what I get all the time, when people find out we're a split household, is "bet you have some knock out fights, this time of year." I tell them, "No, we have too much respect."
